Roger Simmermon
R.D. Simmermon & Company, Inc. Builder Roger Simmermon of Denver, said he gasped the first time he saw architect Robert Armon's design for Longtree. Simmermon had built a series of unusual houses, from upscale townhomes in Denver's fashionable Cherry Creek district to ultra modern showcases in University Hills, but nothing like this home based on sacred geometry and surrounded by more than 3,000 old-growth Ponderosa pines. Simmermon first gained notice in Denver by reviving the past when he renovated a stately Queen Anne for the Colorado Historical Society and transformed a 50's ranch home into a 4,500 square foot Mediterranean villa on the Denver Country Club. He went on to built stunning French Provincials and elegant Victorians in some of Denver's finest areas. For the complex Longtree, Simmermon assigned as superintendent the man he calls "The king of construction," 40-year industry veteran Ron Schauman. Another key player is Simmermon's general manager and certified designer Lyn Bartels. Longtree's Robin Romero said, "They're the best. We know they'll build us a home for the ages." |
